I read the columns posted by various writers to see their thoughts on a variety of subjects. Although I do not always agree with everything that is stated, I make it a point to send no hate mail of any kind. I merely ask a question to comment.
The other day I had occasion to review some archives posted by Townhall, only to find a line or two was missing from the original text submitted by the columnist.
As this particular remark was short and to the point, some would feel that it had the potential to be incendiary. I, for one agreed completely with the columnist.
Although it could be construed as an error in posting, it struck me as censorship. A deleted comment so as not to inflame or provoke.
That is why I follow Townhall because of the ability to post scathing and hardnosed comments.It is certainly far better than-a thrill went up my leg Matthews comments.
It seems to me as time passes more and more people want to conform so as to be politically correct in their thoughts and deeds. In some respects, that has some merit but to give up your independent thinking process is to give in to a time that all thoughts will be controlled ala"1984"
We are presently on our way to becoming a completely controlled nation by a government that has no working knowledge of operating a business day by day.
As an old Virginia statesman said," Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?'
